These terms are the agreement between you and گەیشت - GAYSHT, the business behind Gaysht, whether you use the app as a passenger or as a driver. By using the app you accept them. Last updated 4 October 2026.
Who we are
Gaysht is run by گەیشت - GAYSHT, a ride service operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, based in Erbil. You can write to us at any time at gaysht.iq@gmail.com.
What Gaysht does, and what it does not
Gaysht connects passengers with drivers whose papers we have checked, for monthly rides and for single private rides. The journey itself is carried out by the driver, in the driver's own car. Gaysht is not a transport company and does not drive anybody anywhere.
Your account
Give your real name and a mobile number that is yours; we send a code to it and the account is tied to it. One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for whatever is done with your account. You must be old enough to travel alone, and at least 12 years old.
Requests, offers and contracts
A monthly request becomes a contract when a driver takes it and you have paid the month. The contract covers the route, the days and the times you chose, for its whole period. A driver may not hold two rides at the same hour, and a request is looked at by our team before it reaches drivers.
The fare
The app works the fare out from the real road it measures, and the figure it shows is the one you pay. A private ride is priced by the kilometre with a smallest fare; a month is priced from the same road, the days a week and the number of riders. Every ride leaves an invoice you can open at any time. All money in Gaysht is Iraqi dinars.
Paying
A month is paid in advance through the app. Gaysht holds that money and pays the driver all of it on the first day of the following month; the service takes no commission from a fare. A driver cannot take money out of the app by himself. Your mobile number and the driver's are shown to each other only once a ride is taken, so that you can call or message each other.
Cancelling, changing, and not turning up
You may skip a day, or move one day's pick-up, up to 12 hours before it; for that day a private driver comes for an extra fare. A private ride costs nothing to cancel until the driver has arrived, and 1,500 IQD once he is waiting. He waits 5 minutes. If a driver cancels a monthly contract he loses that month's pay; if a passenger cancels, the month already paid is not returned.
Refunds
Money that must come back to you -- a private ride no driver took, or a payment we cannot honour -- goes back into your wallet in the app. A refund to a bank card is made by hand by our office.
If you drive for Gaysht
You must be licensed to drive and to carry passengers, keep your car roadworthy and insured as the law requires, and keep your papers up to date in the app. Our team reviews every paper before you may work. There is no joining fee and no commission. To take rides a driver keeps a subscription: 2,000 IQD a month, bought in the app or at our office for 1, 2, 3, 6 or 12 months. A subscription that has been paid for is not refunded, even if you stop driving before it ends; it runs to its last day. When it ends you cannot take new rides, but the monthly contracts you already hold carry on to their end. You are an independent driver, not an employee of Gaysht: you choose when you work, and you are responsible for the car, the driving and the law of the road.
What is not allowed
Carrying anything dangerous or illegal; abusive or unsafe behaviour towards a driver or a passenger; more riders than the seats agreed; agreeing a fare outside the app to avoid it; opening an account in somebody else's name, or with a number that is not yours.
When we stop an account
We may hold or close an account that breaks these terms, that we believe is being used by somebody other than its owner, or that puts a passenger or a driver at risk. Money truly owed to you is still paid or refunded.
How far our responsibility goes
We arrange and price rides and hold the money honestly. We are not responsible for a driver's driving, for a car's condition, for what is lost or left in a car, or for a delay caused by traffic, weather or the road. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. You are told in the app before a change applies, and using the app afterwards means you accept it. The date at the top says when they last changed.
Law and disputes
These terms follow the law in force in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and a dispute we cannot settle between us is decided by the competent courts in Erbil.
